This drill is perfect for starting practice as it warms up players and sets a positive tone. As players improve, it becomes quicker, with everyone making baskets in succession, demonstrating their progress throughout the season and helping players perform in game type situations. See page 67.
Redirecting Ball Handlers on the Break
Set up two players at the foul line: one with the ball facing half-court and the other facing the baseline. When the coach says, "go," both players sprint in their directions, and the defender's goal is to prevent the offensive player from getting an open look at the hoop. This will help improve your transition defense. See page 69.
